A clear view of real-world emissions, wherever your vehicles operate
Real-world data reveals what laboratory testing can’t
Engines and powertrains behave differently the moment they leave controlled conditions. Loads rise and fall, temperatures shift and transient events create sharp swings that no fixed-duty test can fully capture. These gaps matter for compliance, optimisation, warranty protection and future product planning.
Our portable emissions measurement systems (PEMS) bridge this divide. We capture second-by-second data as vehicles and machinery operate in their true environments, giving you a clearer understanding of how regulated pollutants, including NOx, particulates, and also other non-regulated pollutants such N2O and CH20 behave in the real world.
Advantages of independent, external PEMS testing and project management services
Internal resources are valuable. Allocating PEMS testing to internal teams diverts engineering time from future powertrains and strategic development.
Outsourcing real-world testing gives you:
More engineering time for tomorrow’s technologies
Consistent, independent data for customer, regulatory and internal reporting
Reduced operational burden when managing projects in distant regions
Rapid deployment without tying up internal personnel or equipment
With experience in Europe, India, South America, North America, Asia and Australia, we specialise in taking on the logistical complexity so your team doesn’t have to.

Project examples
Real Driving Emissions (RDE): Independent verification and validation for WLTP and Euro 6/VI programmes.
Stage V In-Service Monitoring (ISM): Robust, real-world emissions surveillance for NRMM including construction, agriculture and mining machinery.
Euro VI In-Service Conformity (ISC): PEMS-based assessments to ensure heavy-duty engines remain compliant throughout their operational life.
Alternative fuels and additives benchmarking in real-world conditions: For example, HVO vs Diesel real-world performance
Retrofit accreditation: real-world emissions performance of powertrain and emissions abatement technologies
CWA 17379 / CEN for tailpipe NOx: Standardised NOx and NO₂ measurement compliant with recognised European methodologies.
Hybrid and electrified powertrains: Understanding the interplay between engine transients, battery state-of-charge, regeneration events and thermal effects.

“As we scale up our emissions testing on our ammonia-to-power powerpack, Emissions Analytics was always available to provide timely, detailed, and accurate information. Our systems are novel and require much testing and refinement. We’ve been impressed with their diligence and commitment to excellence throughout every stage of the process.”

‘Emissions Analytics carried out emissions testing on diesel generators coupled to our flywheel hybrid system. They took over the work at very short notice and showed great competence and professionalism in all stages of the project. Despite the novelty and peculiarities of our test requirements, their team showed great adaptability, attention to detail and provided excellent communication at all times.’

Where we test
We’ve deployed PEMS on vehicles and machinery in locations including: Europe, North America, Latin America, India, South East Asia, Australia, Middle East.
Wherever your products operate, we can capture representative real-world duty cycles.
Our real-world advantage
The time and effort required for real-world emissions projects is often disproportionate to the value of the task, as it diverts engineers away from R&D. PEMS testing is essentially looking backwards - benchmarking technologies that you developed many months ago, perhaps years ago. Emissions Analytics will enable you to focus your resources on tomorrow.
When tomorrow’s powertrain could go in several different directions, from H2 to hybrid, that time is valuable. Managing projects in distant and remote regions (India, South America, Asia, Australia) further compounds these costs.
Emissions Analytics exists to relieve our partners of this inefficient burden. We are pleased to count several OEMs as clients who outsource the project management and testing process. Our PEMS testing expertise was recently validated by the Singapore Government, which selected us for a landmark research project, real-world emissions testing of x90 vehicles.
Agile project management and over a decade of PEMS testing experience across applications (from heavy-duty to marine and rail), Emissions Analytics ensures that projects are delivered efficiently and reliably
